Bella Hadid has reportedly broken up with her musician boyfriend The Weeknd, after a year and a half of dating.
People magazine confirmed the split yesterday, when a source revealed to the magazine that the break-up was amicable. ‘Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album,’ the source explained. ‘They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.’
Bella and The Weeknd (aka Abel Tesfaye) are yet to comment publicly on the split.
The couple are thought to have started dating last spring, after Abel asked the model to appear in the artwork for his hit album, Beauty Behind The Madness. She has since starred in the video for his single ‘In The Night’, and the couple made their red carpet debut at the Grammy Awards earlier this year.
‘It was a big night for him,’ she told Glamour US after the event. ‘As a girlfriend I wanted to be there to support him. Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy.’
‘I’m dating Abel. I don’t see him as The Weeknd,’ she added. ‘I’m proud of The Weeknd and the music he makes, but I really love Abel.’
