Bella Hadid And The Weeknd Are ‘Hanging Out’ Again

The biggest trend for autumn-winter 2017? Getting back together with your A-list ex. First came Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s much-analysed reconciliation in an LA coffee joint; then came sightings of Alexa Chung and Alex Turner (or, as we prefer to think of them, the former First Couple of Late-Noughties Indie) at a London firework display. Now, model Bella Hadid and singer The Weeknd (who’s fresh from a break-up with Selena) appear to be the latest exes picking up where they left off.

Earlier this week, The Weeknd (aka Abel Tesfaye) was photographed leaving Bella’s New York apartment, having spent ‘several hours there’ according to the photo agency responsible. The couple previously dated for a year and a half, but called it quits last November due to their conflicting schedules.

A source told E! News that the couple are ‘hanging out’ again after Abel’s split from Selena, but certainly aren’t rushing back into a relationship. ‘Bella and Abel have been in contact since Abel and Selena split, but they are not back together,’ they said. ‘Abel reached out to Bella asking to hang out and catch up, and she decided to see him and see where things go. She knows that if they don’t date again, they can at least be good friends.’

‘They enjoy each other’s company and have a lot of fun together,’ the source added.

Another insider revealed to E! that Bella is keen to take things slowly, having been deeply affected by her break-up last year. ‘She still loves him but has her guard up. She never really got over him. She is not looking to be exclusive with him now, just to be his friend,’ the source explained. ‘His schedule won’t allow him to stay focused on her – she knows this from past experience.

‘She is stronger this time around. She would give Abel another try, many be down the road, but is taking small steps before she jumps back into a relationship,’ they added.
