It’s the most wonderful time of the year... Though it may be the worst time of the year for model Bar Refaeli, as she’s being investigated for suspected tax evasion in her home country of Israel.
She’s been accused of failing to report ‘millions of dollars’ in income earned abroad, as well as several thousand dollars worth of ‘celebrity benefits’, like free use of Range Rovers and Lexus cars, too.
Earlier this week, Bar was questioned at a Tel Aviv tax office and when it was confirmed she was being investigated, a court agreed to release her on Thursday on a £129,000 bail. Bar – who has modelled for Escada, Gap and Desigual – has denied committing any offence and her lawyer said: “There is no drama. In the end, this is just a civil dispute. No-one cheated anyone else. It will all clear up soon.”
