Eminem released a completely misogynistic video on Monday, in which he deigned to attack Lana Del Rey in an elevator, similar to a much-publicised domestic violence incident between Baltimore Ravens football player Ray Rice and his wife Janay.
Rice knocked his wife unconsciousin a hotel elevator earlier this year, with the footage caught on surveillance camera. His contract with the Ravens was terminated and he was suspended by the NFL for an indefinite period, meaning he can’t play for any other team as long as the suspension is in effect.
Eminem praises Ray Rice and hates on Lana Del Rey in the freestyle video entitled, Shadyxv-The Cxvpher. He raps: ‘But I may fight for gay rights, especially if the dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice / Play nice/ Bitch I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance / ’Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.’
It’s not clear why he’s got beef with Lana, and she has yet to respond, but one person has already answered him on her behalf: Azealia Banks. The rapper Tweeted at her pal ‘@LanaDelRey tell him to go back to his trailer park and eat his microwave hotpocket dinner and suck on his sisters tiddies’.
For her part, Lana Dey Rey has only ever been nice about Eminem, speaking highly of his lyrical skills in an interview a couple of years ago. Maybe Eminem didn’t see that, or maybe he did and he’s just a dick. Well, that last part is true, regardless.
