We all knew it was too good to last, but Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field have sensationally quit their roles as judges onThe X Factor- with the former Take That star announcing the news this morning.
Accompanying a loved-up snap of the pair, Robbie - who replaced Louis Walsh on the judging panel - wrote, ‘We’ve got some very big announcements coming soon - but we can’t reveal all yet. Sadly though it’s impossible to do everything… And we’re gutted to tell you we won’t be able to return to The X Factor this year.'
It sounds like there's no hard feelings towards his former boss Simon though, as he added, 'We will, however, be working on projects with Simon going forward - and as huge fans of the show, we will still be tuning into The X Factor, voting and winding Simon up…x’
Last September, Robbie told This Morning that he was enjoying becoming a TV personality, saying, ‘Selfishly, for me, I've had the most fun that I've ever had in the entertainment industry. It would be incredible to open a new chapter and have this be the start of it. I'm just having a whale of a time. Who knew that I would be a TV personality? I like it though!'
Louis Tomlinson has also expressed doubt about returning to the show's panel next year, as it might clash with his goal to release an album. He said on Lorraine, 'Simon hasn't called me yet. I had an amazing experience on the show last year, but if it's going to get in the way of my mission for this year, which is releasing the album, then it's probably going to be less likely.'
