Armie Hammer's estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, has been cleansing her home after weeks of controversy surrounding her ex. Posting on Instagram, the actress and TV personality asked followers 'how much sage is too much sage? Asking for a friend.' The image showed two large bundles of the herb, traditionally used to banish negative energies from spaces.
Earlier this week, Elizabeth issued a statement following allegations surrounding the actor, saying she 'supports any victims of assault or abuse'. Addressing the claims for the first time, Elizabeth, 38, wrote on Instagram yesterday: 'For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that has transpired. I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated.'
‘Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I didn’t realise how much I didn’t know. I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal.’
'My sole focus and attention will continue to be on our children, on my work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for all of the love and support, and thank you in advance for your continued kindness, respect, and consideration for our children and me as we find ways to move forward.’
The pair announced they had separated in July last year. Hammer, 34, has been married to Elizabeth since 2014 and they share two children; daughter Harper Grace, six, and son Ford Armand Douglas, three.
Last week, the TV personality also appeared to comment on the news that Hammer’s Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino and co-star Timothee Chalamet were working on a ‘cannibalism love story’, allegedly writing under an Instagram post: ‘No. Words.’
Last month, graphic and disturbing messages - allegedly from Hammer - were leaked. Hammer denied the messages, making a statement relating to his withdrawal from upcoming Jennifer Lopez movie, Shotgun Wedding.
‘I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,' he said. 'Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.’
