Happy first birthday to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor{
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also celebrated Archie’s birthday today by releasing an adorable short film that shows Meghan reading him one of his favourite books, Duck! Rabbit!, to support Save the Children’s Save With Stories initiative, aimed at helping children hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic across the world.
In the clip, Meghan laughs throws another book to the floor, as his attention wanders. Harry is also heard cheering at the end of the story, and Archie responds by saying, ‘Da, da, da.’
Kate and William shared their well wishes by posting a photo from Archie's christening. The snap shows Meghan and Harry and their little boy sitting in Windsor Castle's Green Drawing Room with Charles, Camilla, Kate, William, Doria and Princess Diana's sisters. 'Wishing Archie a very happy first birthday today,' they wrote.
The Queen also shared a cute photo of her and Prince Philip - which also includes Harry, and Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland - when they met Archie for the first time at Windsor Castle, before the photocall where Archie was first shown to the world. The message, on the Royal Family Twitter and Instagram accounts, reads: ‘Happy Birthday to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor who is celebrating his 1st birthday today! Archie is The Queen’s eighth great-grandchild.’
Archie's birthday will obviously be very different this year, but hopefully the family have a wonderful day in lockdown. The family are now living in LA, after leaving their rented £10.7million mansion in Vancouver, Canada in March.
