Anna Paquin has offered her support to the LGBTQ community by Tweeting that she is 'proud to be a happily married bisexual mother.'

The actress, who is married to her True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer, with whom she has twins, added that 'marriage is about love, not gender' and tagged the It Gets Better and No Hate campaigns, as well as the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights organisation Equality California.

Los Angeles celebrated Gay Pride over the weekend, prompting the Paquin's Tweets of support. She first spoke about being bisexual via a public service announcement for the True Colors First Give A Damncampaign, just before she married Moyer in 2010. In an interview with _Zooe_y magazine at the time, she said: '[being bisexual is] not being greedy or numerous other ignorant things I've heard at this point. For a bisexual, it's not about gender. That's not the deciding factor for who they're attracted to.'

While the actress is normally very private, she is actually quite vocal and supportive when it comes to equality – basically because it's something she feels is important: 'I'm not someone who endlessly talks about her personal life for no reason, but obviously, as someone who identifies as bisexual, those are issues I really care about – and frankly, I don't see why everyone doesn't care about them,' she told Zap2it of her decision to take part in the 2010 Give A Damn campaign.
