Wait, How Are Anna Delvey And Julia Fox Friends?

Two months in, and it's fair to say pop culture in 2022 has belonged to two women: Julia Fox - Kanye West's girlfriend, for a brief period of time - and Anna Delvey, the scam artist who Shonda Rhimes'Inventing Anna is based on. They're not exactly people we thought would be the best of mates, but, actually... They are. Julia{ =nofollow}has even called Anna 'my dear sis' on Instagram, and the pair have been tagging each other on their Instagram stories (a sign of modern friendship basically equivalent to a friendship bracelet).

Interestingly, it turns out the pair have been friends for a while, long before Anna was the subject of the most-watched show on Netflix, and long before Julia was being bought entire wardrobes by Kanye/going viral on TikTok for her way of pronouncing the film she starred in as 'Uncut Jaaamz'.

So, we have one question: how? How on earth are Anna Delvey and Julia Fox good mates?

Well, apparently the pair share a lot of mutual friends, which would make sense, as Anna used to hang around all the wealthy/showbiz circles in New York. But Anna and Julia's friendship started out like most relationships start these days: on Instagram. And the DM sliding happened after Anna was released from prison in February 2021. (Six weeks later, Anna was placed in ICE detention, after overstaying her visa.)

'We actually connected on Instagram when I was out, and we DM’d a bit, and then she jumped on my Clubhouse, which was really random,' Anna told the New York Times, explaining their friendship. 'I was answering people’s questions about my experience, and she made the forum so much better. She asked all the right questions. We have a similar sense of humor. She was never judgmental, and we’ve stayed in touch ever since.'

Anna even went on to defend some of the frenzied interest surrounding Julia's short-lived relationship to Ye - and dropped the bombshell that they're working together. '[Julia] has lots of interesting creative projects going on, and I feel like the media is not doing her justice talking about her dating life,' she added. 'We are actually working on a little something together.' We're certainly keeping our eyes on what their collab will be.
