Blade Runner 2049 hits cinemas this Friday, with Ryan Gosling starring as Agent K, Harrison Ford reprising his part as Rick Deckard, and unknown actress Ana De Armas taking on possibly the most coveted role of the year, as Gosling’s love interest Joi. The 29-year-old Cuban beauty is arguably the female lead in what has become one of 2017’s most talked about and eagerly anticipated films, so it’s only a matter of time before she goes stratospheric. As part of the promo trail, De Anas has been showing off her exquisite fashion taste, wearing a series of surprising looks that set her apart from her male co-stars (despite Ryan Gosling’s attempts to steal the spotlight in his series of grandad jumpers). Not that’s she any stranger to the fashion world: she's already sat front row at Chanel, Oscar de la Renta and Armani Prive and was also a guest at the launch of Tiffany’s new perfume. Here, we bring you our six favourite looks from the doe-eyed star.
For the Blade Runner 2049 photocall in Berlin, Ana opted for an on-trend look from Miu Miu, perfect for one of the coolest cities in Europe (as well as a subtle nod to the futuristic, hyper-real setting of the film). She chose one of the brand's metallic sequinned all-in-ones, comprising a high-neck tunic and trousers, with a skinny champagne-hued belt being the only accessory.
Gaining something of a reputation as a magpie, Ana chose another sparkly look for another Blade Runner 2049 photo call, this time from Chanel. The autumn/winter 2017 look featured a grey knit teamed with a violet pencil skirt, both shot through with lurex thread, giving them a twinkle.
Clearly with a penchant for Chanel, the Cuban actress was also a front-row attendee at the show, wearing a red, white and blue patterned dress with button-down detail and pussy-bow tie. Worn with black ankle boots and a great blow-dry, she's oozing Parisian chic.
Ana chose another thematically-appropriate dress for the Madrid premiere of Blade Runner 2049, wearing a structured mini-dress with padded shoulder detail by Mary Katrantzou. Featuring the designer's signature digital prints and peplum detail, it was a clever way to tap into the futuristic trend without opting for cliched metallics.
Another great sequinned look, Ana dazzles in a two-tone black and champagne-coloured jacket worn with white flared trousers by Armani Prive. The warm caramel hues suit her complexion perfectly, especially when complimented by her bronze eye make-up.
For the 2017 pre-Oscars Vanity Fair party, Ana dressed as the ultimate acting trophy, wearing a dazzling Grecian-style gown by Elie Saab. The exquisite nude gold gown featured an art-deco style pattern, and was perfectly accessorised with a simple gold clutch and diamond watch and earrings.
