As a TV presenter, Alison Hammond is no stranger to the screen. But on a recent episode of Loose Women, she revealed she said no when her 20-year-old son, Aidan, asked her if he could go on Love Island.
She told the panel that her son successfully auditioned for the show, and she had to become 'the mum of the house' when she told him he couldn't enter the villa. When asked about the rumours that her son could be appearing in the 2025 line-up as a bombshell, she said 'Absolutely not!', warning that he's 'too young.'
Alison said she told her son: '"If you really need to do it Aidan, do it when you're a little bit older," because he was only 19 at that time. I just think it's too young - I just think he can do it when he's a little bit older.'
Alison shares Aidan with her former fiancé Noureddine Boufaied. The pair split in 2014, with Alison explaining: ‘Over time we realised we weren’t compatible. He wanted to be in Manchester and I wanted to be in Birmingham. Eventually we split up. Nourddine became an every-other-weekend dad, and in time, we saw him as and when he wanted to see Aidan.’
However, the pair are still on good terms, and share a close relationship with Aidan - who was born on Alison's 30th birthday in 2005. ‘Our personalities are very similar,’ she told Hello! magazine. ‘I’m so proud of the kind young man he’s turned into.’
Despite having a high-profile parent, Alison has previously explained the family do their best to keep Aidan as grounded as possible - and that includes charging him rent. Speaking on the Parenting Hell podcast, Alison said: 'It’s brilliant, I’ve gone to a new level. Wait for it… he’s paying rent.' She continued, 'It’s a nice base to begin, and it’s regular, and he's okay paying it. I thought he’d be a bit funny about it.'

Aidan Hammond is famous in his own right. A keen DJ, he secured his first gig at Camp Bestival Dorset in 2024, and Alison stepped out to support him. Aidan spoke on the Spin Justice podcast about how Alison helped him on his journey to becoming a successful DJ.

Alison proudly spoke about her son landing the gig, saying 'It was Aidan’s first time filming, so it felt like I had a work experience apprentice with me. It was eye-opening to see how he approached it, and I realised he has the same work ethic as me – early mornings, late nights – he handled it really well! I was quite surprised, to be honest. You know how teenagers can be, but he was great!’
