It was one of our most devastating discoveries of the year: Alex Pettyfer would not be returning for the sequel to Magic Mike.
And while, admittedly, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer did make the screen a little easier on our eyes, there was an Alex Pettyfer shaped hole in the sequel.
But Alex has now revealed that the reason he didn’t return to the man-stripping movie is because he fell out with his co-star, Channing Tatum, and the rest of the cast while filming.
Alex revealed on Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast that he may have not exactly been the easiest person to get on with: “It's true…Because Channing Tatum does not like me – and for many reasons and many being my own fault."
He went on to explain that he had previously stayed in a friend of Channing’s apartment, got a bit ill, had a family crisis and then sort of forgot to pay the rent.
Alex said: “And I all the sudden got a very negative email from Channing, rightfully so, saying 'Don't fk my friends. You owe money. Pay the f****g money. Don't be a clown.'”
Unfortunately, the actor says, "I really took that the wrong way, which I shouldn't have, and emailed him back and said 'F--- them. What is money when life is so much more. I'm not dealing with this and I'm not paying.’ And I should have just paid.” From that point onwards, Alex reckons Channing had it out for him.
It doesn’t look like that opinion of him will be changing anytime soon after this revealing interview…
