If there's one thing that could potentially save 2021 for us, it's a new Adele album. We've been waiting for a new album from our favourite singer since 2015 - and we might be getting a new one very soon, according to none other than one of Adele's BFFs, Alan Carr.
The RuPaul's Drag Race judge was chatting to Grazia along with co-star Michelle Visage for My Fangirl Shortlist, and very excitingly, he revealed that he's already had the honour of listening to some of her next LP.
When asked 'whose album is rumoured to be coming out in February - Adele, Rihanna or Cardi B?', Alan replied, 'It's Adele, isn't it? I've actually heard some tracks on it. Oh my God, it's amazing - so amazing.' (However, he then warned that the album might change: 'They change all the time,' he added, 'they're really rough things.')
Alan continued: 'I said to her, I said that voice is like an old friend, because there are some people in the charts who sound a bit like Adele and then when you hear Adele's voice, you go "Oh no, there's only one".' 'Alan, her voice hasn't gone skinny has it?' Michelle then joked. 'No, no, no,' Alan replied, 'she's still got a chunky but funky voice - don't worry.'
The singer and the presenter have been close friends for years - with Adele even officiating Alan's wedding to his long-term boyfriend in 2018. (Imagine your first dance at your wedding being to Adele, singing live?!) 'It was a very special day,' Alan later told the Daily Mail. 'She was amazing. She got ordained. I said, "Let me pay for something," and she said: "No, I'm paying." She paid for the whole thing. She's known me and Paul for ages, and she said, "I want to do your special day. Let me do everything."'
Season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Rack UK returns this Thursday night at 7pm on BBC 3 via iPlayer.
