Adele has reportedly reached a divorce settlement with her ex-husband Simon Konecki - almost two years after they announced their separation. According to People, the singer, 32, and Simon, 46, filed a judgement packet in court in Los Angeles last Friday (January 15) - however, the marriage won't officially be ended until the judge signs off on the paperwork.
Simon, the CEO of charity Drop4Drop, and Adele announced their split in 2019, following seven years of marriage. Adele then filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, five months after they confirmed their break-up. In April last year, the singer's request to keep the details of her £140million divorce private was granted by a court in Los Angeles. The pair will share custody of their son, but any other information regarding the proceedings will not be publicly available.
At the time of their split, a representative for the musician said: ‘Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.’
Simon and Adele met in 2011, and welcomed their son, Angelo, in October 2012. The pair still co-parent their son, with the former couple reportedly living across the street in Los Angeles.
It's long been rumoured that Adele's next studio album is set to be released next month, with best friend Alan Carr telling Grazia that he has heard some of the 'amazing' tracks'. When asked 'whose album is rumoured to be coming out in February - Adele, Rihanna or Cardi B?', Alan replied, 'It's Adele, isn't it? I've actually heard some tracks on it. Oh my God, it's amazing - so amazing.' (However, he then warned that the album might change: 'They change all the time,' he added, 'they're really rough things.')
