She's won 15 Grammy awards and has just finished a live circuit that drew rave reviews and record crowds Down Under.

But the out-and-out talent that is Adele hinted that she may never tour again, as she drew to a close the final concert of her 13-month world circuit in Auckland, New Zealand.

The 28-year-old singer and mum welled up towards the end of her performance at the city's Mt Smart Stadium, telling the 40,000-strong crowd that this could be the last time she hits the road.

“Touring isn’t something I’m good at – applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable,” she said

“I don’t know if I will ever tour again."

According to the New Zealand Herald, Adele then burst into tears as she told fans:

"The only reason I’ve toured is you. I’m not sure if touring is my bag. My greatest accomplishment in my career is this tour."

Adele has been open in the past about the overwhelming stage fright she experiences when performing live.

"I get so nervous with live performances that I’m too frightened to try anything new," she said.

"It’s actually getting worse. Or it’s just not getting better, so I feel like it’s getting worse, because it should’ve gotten better by now."

The singer also described how the demands of touring left her feeling conflicted when it came to caring for her son, four-year-old Angelo.

"I’m enjoying touring, but at times I feel guilty because I'm doing this massive tour, and even though my son is with me all the time, on certain nights I can't put him to bed," she said in November.

“I never feel guilty when I'm not working. You're constantly trying to make up for stuff when you're a mum. I don't mind, because of the love I feel for him."

Last year, Adele nailed one of her biggest-ever gigs when she performed in front of a crowd of 150,000 at Glastonbury.

Critics described how she "lit up" the stage with a "rousing" and "enchanting" show.

The artist took a career break between 2011 and 2016, and insiders say she may do so again.

"Adele doesn’t want to miss a moment of Angelo growing up and it’s an easy decision for her to give up touring for him," sources told The Sun last year.

“Right now she is saying she won’t do another massive world tour like the current one for another ten years."
