Adelefans, listen up: if you’re one of the lucky few who were able to bag a ticket to see the Send My Love singer perform IRL, put your phones away.
We're serious...
The 28-year old powerhouse actually halted one of her shows in Verona to tell off a member in the audience for filming her and told the woman to put the ‘tripod’ away and instead enjoy the show.
"Yeah, I want to tell that lady as well, can you stop filming me with a video camera because I'm really here in real life,” Adele says. "You can enjoy it in real life, rather than through your camera."
"Can you take your tripod down? This isn't a DVD, this is a real show. I'd really like you to enjoy my show because there's lots of people outside that couldn't come in."
In a moment of irony, the whole scene was filmed and posted on Twitter.
Sure, Adele may have signed a £90million record deal recently and be one of the best-selling artists of our generation – but her stardom hasn’t stopped her speaking her mind.
And we love her all the more for it.
Adele’s not the only one in her views to keep the digi-action to a mininum. Alicia Keys recently held a gig in a secret London location and asked that ticket holders keep their phones at home. And the mighty Kate Bush, who staged a one-off comeback in 2014 after 35 years not performing, took a stand against fans watching her shows through a screen.
Bush wrote on her website: "I have a request for all of you who are coming to the shows. We have purposefully chosen an intimate theatre setting rather than a large venue or stadium. It would mean a great deal to me if you would please refrain from taking photos or filming during the shows.”
Adele. Alicia. Kate, we’re with you on this one.
