Her implants and fillers have nothing on this...

Kim Kardashian may have been accused of a veritable buffet of body modifications - a boob job, bum implants, you name it, yet, that didn’t stop her showing off her freaky new ‘alien necklace implant’ that lit up in rhythm with her heartbeat. It wasn’t drastic new surgery or an AI accessory, but a preview of her friend Simon Huck’s A Human exhibition, which explores how body modification might be the future of fashion.

In collaboration with make-up artist Isamaya French and Nicopanda’s Nichola Formichetti, Huck creates a visual, interactive discourse on how implants can be a form of self-expression. He told Vogue, ‘When you think of the future, you think dark, dystopian—there are all these images that come to mind. I didn’t want to create a utopian world, but I definitely wanted to create a world that was optimistic or, at the bare minimum, neutral’, adding, ‘We wanted to use the future of fashion and the future of self-expression as a way to look at the future. That is how the ethos of A. Human formed’.

Remember the Museum of Ice Cream? That place where Beyonce and Blue Ivy frolicked for photos in a ball pit of sprinkles is small fry in comparison to this immersive exhibition. In a lab-like setting, crystal skin ruffs and theatrical ribs become toys in this ‘subversive playground filled with jaw-dropping signs, sounds, and visuals’. Science may be a long way behind the exhibitions’ creative concept but your Instagram feed doesn’t have to be. Arm yourself with an iPhone and take a trip to New York’s Mercer Street this September to see this wild new show for yourself.
