The 2016 Oscar nominations have finally been revealed, during an announcement from Los Angeles this afternoon.
Leonardo DiCaprio will once again go head to head with Eddie Redmayne in the Best Actor category, after having beaten the *Danish Girl *actor during Sunday's Golden Globes. Could 2016 be the year that Leo finally takes the Oscar?Although *The Revenant star has been notoriously unlucky when it comes to the Academy Awards, the signs are looking promising. Leo also faces competition from Michael Fassbender, Matt Damon and Bryan Cranston.
Following her Golden Globes success, Jennifer Lawrence has once again been nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in Joy. Cate Blanchett, Charlotte Rampling, Saoirse Ronan and fellow Globes winner Brie Larson have also been recognised for their standout roles.
The ceremony will take place on Sunday 28th February at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, and will be hosted by comedian Chris Rock.
