There's a new sleep solution on the block and it's already getting rave reviews. Meet Diome Rested. In an industry so peppered with new launches, it's rare for a single supplement to land with such hype, especially a debut drop from a relatively new and independent brand like Diome. The supplements industry is booming and the digital shelves are brimming with new powders, capsules and gummies (the sheer amount of gummies!) all promising to glow-up your skin, add three inches to your hair and boost your 'good bacteria' gut reserves in a matter of weeks. And then there are the sleep solutions. With more literature available than ever on the health benefits of a good night's sleep, the demand for over-the-counter sleep aids is at an all-time high. In 2022, a YouGov study reported that around a quarter of Brits were taking sleeping aids. So, how has this new sleep fix attracted the attention of the great and the good in the wellness world so quickly – and more importantly, does it actually work?

Our honest review of Diome Rested by Henrik Lischke, senior fashion features editor:
'Too much travel, a poor diet, and a break-up will wreak havoc with your sleeping pattern. Trust me, I know what I’m talking about, because that is precisely what the past six months has looked like for me. At best, I got four hours sleep at night but realistically averaged around two or three. I struggled to fall asleep in the first place, to stay asleep once I closed my eyes and I would wake up in the early hours - long before my alarm - every morning, without fail. For anyone who’s been here, you have my heartfelt condolences, as there are few things more infuriating, frustrating and puzzling than not being able to sleep, despite being utterly exhausted.
'I haven’t struggled on without trying to fix the issue. Over the last few months, I have tried melatonin from the US and natural remedies, but nothing really did the trick. On the brink of trying to convince my GP to prescribe me sleeping pills, I was handed a jar of Diome Rested. The instructions advised taking two before sleep, or one if the effects felt too strong. Not likely, I thought. Two Diome Rested capsules down the next night though, miraculously and for the first time in months, I slept. The effects were instant and strong. So strong, in fact, that I did have to lower the dose to one capsule every night to avoid grogginess the next morning. It’s been about two weeks of me taking them daily and my sleeping pattern has finally fallen back into place. Watch this space.' - Henrik Lischke, senior fashion features editor.

What the brand says: 'Our debut product, Rested, is a doctor formulated, sleep-optimising daily supplement that powers restorative sleep and energised days. Precise, powerful and rooted in over 200 scientific studies, Rested is comprised of fifteen ingredients, purposefully selected for their individual and collaborative properties.'
What we know: It's the newest 'it' sleep supplement in the block. It come from new independent supplements brand Diome and if Henrik Lischke's review is anything to go by, this stuff gets the job done. It's potent, too. Each jar comes with a mild warning, 'if effects are too strong, reduce the dose.' You get 60 capsules in each jar and for most people one capsule will be enough before bed, so one buy should see you through a couple of months. At £60, this isn't the most budget-friendly buy on the market, but can you put a price on good sleep if you've been struggling without it?
Our verdict: 'After months of very little sleep and consistently waking in the early hours of the morning I tried Diome Rested for the first time and was surprised. I took two capsules an hour before bed and slept solidly for the first time in a long time. The effects were impressive and strong - I felt quite groggy the next day, so - as per the instructions - I took my dose down to a single capsule - no grogginess the next day. Two weeks on and my sleep schedule is falling back into place.' Henrik Lischke, senior fashion features editor.

How does Diome Rested work?
Diome Rested works by supporting your body's nervous system functions and calming your body's excitatory centres - regions that stimulate things like emotional responses - in an effort to quiet the intrusive thoughts and worries that keep your mind whirring long after your head has hit the pillow. The botanicals in Diome Rested have been selected and studied for their abilities to optimise your body's relaxation mechanisms, reducing stress and anxiety to some degree in the process. With over 200 studies behind this doctor formulated blend of nutraceuticals, it's impossible to boil its processes down to anything succinct and easily grasped, even to a seasoned beauty director, but its M.O. as a whole is to relax your mind and body in the lead-up to sleep and keep you soothed and as a result less prone to waking throughout.
