It’s the celebrity workout that attracts the likes of Victoria Beckham, Harry Styles and Ellie Goulding – to name just a few.

And after bringing Hollywood’s hottest workout to London two years ago the fitness squad at Barry’s Bootcamp have opened a second London studio in Finsbury Square.

Barry’s East takes up two floors of the iconic and newly redeveloped art deco Alphabeta building, with one foot in the financial district and the other in Shoreditch.

The intense 60 minute classes are made up of high intensity cardio on Woodway treadmills, as well as strength training using heavy weights, bands and your own bodyweight. The lights are dimmed the music is loud and the trainers push you to your limit. It’s not dubbed ‘the world’s best workout’ for nothing.

It’s no surprise that the likes of David Beckham, Guy Richie, Lily Allen, Carey Mulligan and Naomi Campbell have all been spotted working out at Barry’s London. Ellie Goulding likes the class so much she even trained her own group while visiting the Miami studio back in January.

Co-owner and master trainer Sandy explains why it’s so popular among the A-list. ‘Our celebrity clients love the anonymity of Barry’s red lights and the fact they're treated just like everyone else. They aren't a different species - they're regular people who like to sweat, and push themselves, just like everyone else who comes. There is that camaraderie with their fellow classmates from all being in it together. I think because of that everyone respects that they are there as one of the group, and they are just left to get on with their thing, no hassle,’ Sandy tells Grazia.

Barry’s East boasts a complimentary towel service, a fuel bar, changing facilities with Malin + Goetz beauty products and even a Nike trainer service – meaning customers who forget their running shoes can trial footwear from the latest Nike running range.
