Best Victoria's Secret Bodies

Adriana Lima1 of 17

Adriana Lima

An Angel since 1999, Adriana is a VS veteran and has the body to boot. We're pretty sure you could bounce a coin off that tummy - even Jessica Ennis must shake in her boots at the sight of Ms Lima. (All images via Getty.)

Candice Swanepoel2 of 17

Candice Swanepoel

South African mega-babe Candice not only has a killer figure, but she's also been blessed with some seriously lust-worthy locks. Talk about hitting the genetic lottery, eh?

Caroline Trentini3 of 17

Caroline Trentini

Caroline has got that sultry stare down pat - not to mention, thighs of DREAMS.

Doutzen Kroes4 of 17

Doutzen Kroes

Doutzen's a super through and through - on top of her countless appearances with Victoria's Secret, she's lent her lovely face to many a L'Oreal campaign. Plus, she's got a super-cool DJ husband - not that we're jealous or anything...

Gigi Hadid5 of 17

Gigi Hadid

Sure, we're yet to see Gigi step onto the VS runway, but she's certainly got the goods for the job. She's starred in Aussie swimwear brand Seafolly's campaigns, as well as smouldering for Guess and Maybelline. Plus, she starred in Taylor Swift's Bad Blood video - alongside every other girl worth her salt in the fashion world.

Gisele6 of 17

Gisele

Gisele may have retired from the runway now, but that won't stop us lusting after any archive pics of her strutting her stuff. With a body like that, it seems almost criminal that she won't be on the VS roster any more.

Heidi Klum7 of 17

Heidi Klum

Heidi ticks every box on the supermodel check list: long legs, athlete's bod, oodles of swish-able hair and killer cheekbones. Some gals get all the luck, eh?

Helena Christensen8 of 17

Helena Christensen

Who knew Helena did Victoria's Secret? The legendary model strutted her stuff for one of the first ever shows.

Izabel Goulart9 of 17

Izabel Goulart

The Brazilian mega-babe was cruelly nicknamed 'Giraffe' at school due to her height. Well, with a bevy of shows under her belt and a swoon-worthy body to boot, we think Izabel got the last laugh.

Joan Smalls10 of 17

Joan Smalls

Joan looks like she was born to be on the catwalk with her super-lithe limbs and nonchalant strut.

Karen Mulder11 of 17

Karen Mulder

90s golden girl and original supermodel Karen Mulder was a catwalk staple back in the early Noughties.

Laetitia Casta12 of 17

Laetitia Casta

Willowy and dreamy, Laetitia has the kind of body most of us can only dream of.

Liu Wen13 of 17

Liu Wen

We love Liu Wen's playful walk - and we're seriously envious of her perfectly toned tum.

Naomi Campbell14 of 17

Naomi Campbell

No VS round-up would be complete without the undisputed queen of the catwalk, Naomi. Frustratingly, she still has that body now in her 40s, as her Agent Provocateur campaigns showed.

Rebecca Romijn15 of 17

Rebecca Romijn

Back in early 90s, Rebecca and her endless legs prowled the Victoria's Secret runway. Best throwback Angel ever?

Selita Ebanks16 of 17

Selita Ebanks

Selita's run with the Angels from 2005-9 has to be one of our favourites ever - and there's no denying she's got a truly ridiculous body.

Stephanie Seymour17 of 17

Stephanie Seymour

Well, the styling might not be up to today's bar, but Stephanie and her dreamy, strong body could teach some younger models a thing or two.

Getting oneself ready for the annual Victoria's Secret Show is no walk in the park. Sure, the girls who make the cut as Angels are already in tip-top shape, but prior to stepping on the runway in your diamante-encrusted smalls is a gruelling, months-long fitness gauntlet.

Boxing, weightlifting, ballet and pilates all feature in the girls' fitness repetoire pre-show, with workouts stepping to twice a day in the final weeks leading up to the big day. And we think we're aching after one challenging yoga session.

A minimum height of 5"9 and a waist no bigger than 24" is a prerequiste - as well as getting your body below 18% body fat. Most athletes' body fat is between 14-20%, while the average woman's is 21-24%. Needless to say, this is tricky work, especially for women who naturally carry more fat than muscle.

While these girls are teeny-tiny, they're tough cookies - plenty of the girls routinely lift more than their bodyweight in deadlifts as part of their routine. Then, there's the diet aspect. Like you've probably guessed, it's goodbye to carbs and a big hello to lean protein and veggies - no fruit, though, as it's 'too much' sugar for the programme.

Closer to the show, it's goodbye to food full-stop a week before the show, and even liquids are out 12 hours before. Hopefully, it goes without saying that we don't endorse any of these tactics - they're done under medical supervision for a seriously extreme result - but we can't help but gawp at the girls' bods.
