Almost Half Of British Women Feel They 'Look Tired Every Day'

Find yourself reaching for the concealer as many times a day as you do the coffee? Feel like there's not an eye cream in the world that could help your dark circles? Well, you're not alone, as Eylure are reporting that almost half of British women think they look tired every day.

The survey of 2,000 British women showed that 40% of thirty-somethings feel they looked unrested daily, while 70% wanted to look more rested than younger. We know the feeling.

Late nights, whether it's an ill-advised weeknight Netflix binge or work-induced stresses keeping us up, play havoc with our skin for a few reasons. Firstly, while you sleep, your skin works overtime to recharge and regenerate itself - hence why so many hydrating masks work better overnight. Skin that's regenerating slowly is drier, slacker and greyer skin - miles away from the youthful plumpness we all crave.

Then, a lack of sleep makes the blood vessels under your eyes dilate which brings in the dark circles, and some studies even show that a being tired can make it tougher to get over sunburn - ouch.

The upshot? Your mum was right (again) - an early night will do a world of good. That being said, we've been impressed with the brightening effects of When's 10:00PM Mask (£25.00 for 4) and Sunday Riley's Good Genes Serum (£85.00) - both of these bad boys can wake up a tired complexion in no time.
