So Orlando Bloom’s VERY LA breakfast includes green powder, collagen powder and…Brain Octane Oil?

Orlando Bloom

Orlando Bloom raised a few eyebrows this weekend when he gave readers an insight into his very LA breakfast in his interview with The Sunday Times. He told his interviewer Hannah Swerling 'I like to earn my breakfast so I'll just have some green powders that I mix with brain octane oil, a collagen powder for my hair and nails, and some protein. It's all quite LA, really. Then I'll go for a hike while I listen to some Nirvana or Stone Temple Pilots'. Orlando then went on to describe his 9am post-hike breakfast of 'porridge, a little hazelnut milk, cinnamon, vanilla paste, hazelnuts, goji berries, a vegan protein powder and a cup of PG Tips.' 'All quite LA' is right Orlando. The extent of Orlando Bloom's supplement usage is, quite frankly, inspirational, but we had one burning question on our lips after our first reading of that interview: what on earth is brain octane oil?

JSHealth Vitality x Collagen Powder 180g2 of 9

JSHealth Vitality x Collagen Powder 180g

Founded by Jessica Sepel, a qualified nutritionist, JSHealth's offering is sustainably sourced marine collagen powder, derived from 100% pure cod skin. This type of collagen (categorised as type 1, for those in the know) is more effective than other collagen sources on the market (like bovine and porcine). Tried & Tested by Deputy Commercial Content Editor, Natalie Corner: "I've seen Rochelle Humes pop a 6g scoop of this in her green tea in the mornings and rave about how good it is. So I wanted to see what the fuss was about! Firstly great tip from Rochelle to add it to her green tea in the morning, as I prefer to drink something warm when I first get up and it adds a fruity kick. I tried it in cold water but it didn't seem to dissolve as easily and left a powdery aftertaste, however the best way to get your collagen boost is in porridge. Yum. After using it for almost a month I noticed less shedding of my hair, leaving it a little glossier and thicker. For my skin I noticed brightness and any slight scarring from pimples seemed to turn over a lot more quickly than usual. I'm going to continue taking it to see more results!"

That's a lot to take in but think plumper, dewier skin in the long run. It's pricey for non-members but if you're a Beauty Pie member already it's a no-brainer. Oh and the flavour? I like Puori Pure Collagen Peptides, £29.99. I do believe with things like collagen, be careful where you get it from get a really good quality one.
