Over the years we've become increasingly conscious of what we're putting on our skin and where those products come from. And while there may be plenty of products out there, ones that specifically cater to the needs of women of colour are still rather sparse and often difficult to find in mainstream retailers. Yes, sadly it's still an issue.
Contrary to what's typically on offer, though, the beauty scene is flourishing with skincare brands founded by women of colour. There are some incredible names boasting brilliant products created with melanin-rich skin in mind, catering to the issues that are typically experienced by dark complexions, founded by some brilliant women.
Normally we have to look to the United States to find these beauty products, but we've uncovered a selection of noteworthy brands, that are accessible here in the UK too.
