If you never fail to catch a flight without carefully considering the beauty essentials to keep in your carry-on, you're not alone. Yesterday, Millie Mackintosh took to Instagram to walk us through her seven-step in-flight skin and make-up routine while en route to Athens. While slathering and misting her way through her curated edit of skin enhancing products, Millie proved she is clearly a seasoned beauty conscious traveller, opting for glow-giving products that are no match for low humidity cabins.
In her caption, Millie explains that she's now got her routine down to a tee thanks to a focus on products that keep her skin looking fresh and hydrated. 'I’ve been on and off planes quite a lot recently and often straight onto set for shoots, so I am that annoying person constantly misting my face and probably everyone around me (sorry)!' she writes.
Onlookers can turn their noses up all they like, but there is no denying that Millie's kit is thorough and well thought through. Covering all the bases, it features de-puffing eye masks, a nourishing serum, a cult-favourite lip protector and even a tinted SPF (because yes, you still need sun protection on a flight thanks to UV rays being more intense at higher altitudes).
Any potential risk of skin malfunctions caused by the lack of air pressure, dry cabins and recycled air, which can lead to dehydration and breakouts, is whisked away with an edit of this standard. Millie even notes that these 'are the products that I’ve been using to ensure I land looking glowy no matter how early the flight.' Given her naturally radiant-looking complexion in the video, we don't doubt it.
