If the rumours are true, then Meghan Markle is soon set to announce her engagement to Prince Harry. But while her royal romance has made the Suits star one of the most talked about women in the world, the actress still prefers to keep her everyday life – including her beauty routine – remarkably low-key.

In a recent interview, Meghan revealed that her beauty essential isn’t a pricy serum found only in the most exclusive of department stores, but a simple moisturising lotion that you could drop into your basket while browsing the aisles of Boots or Sainsbury's. The product in question is Nivea’s Q10 Plus Skin Firming Body Lotion, which costs just £5.29.

‘I use this religiously,’ the star waxed lyrical to BeautyBanter. ‘It’s honestly my favourite lotion on the market, it’s so affordable, and makes my skin look and feel amazing. I would buy a case of this at a time if I could find it.’ With the Meghan seal of approval plus the purse-friendly price tag, we’re certainly sold.

This is far from the first time that Meghan has enthused about the low-price, high-performance lotion. In an interview with the Express in the summer of 2016 (which, as we now know, is around the time she was first introduced to Prince Harry by mutual friend Markus Anderson) she gave the product rave reviews, revealing ‘I’ve been using it since school.’

Among the other skincare favourites namechecked by the actress were La Mer’s Renewal Oil, hair products by cult favourite Oribe and Tatcha sun creams. Make-up wise, Meghan sticks to a classic look, explaining ‘I always use Touche Éclat Radiant Touch Concealer by YSL under my eyes, a Dior black eyeliner and a Nars mascara. I love Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, too – my favourite is Very Victoria.’

‘I wear so much make-up for work that when I have a day off, I don’t like to wear it at all. I’ll put on moisturiser, a little bit of highlighter on my cheekbones and that’s it,’ she added.
