If Gwyneth Paltrow's series of court appearances this week proved anything, it's that a) it pays to be gracious - did you catch what she whispered to her accuser before she left the courtroom fresh from the verdict? - and b) this woman knows how to bring it. While social media users went to town producing daily court case memes, beauty obsessives spent their precious grid space lauding Gwyneth's look.
It comes as no surprise that Gwyneth, now 50, has finessed the fine art of looking well; a glow is a lot easier to come by when you're a wealthy megastar living the green juice life in LA's Montecito. And yet there's no denying the aspiration value. You only have to scroll through Gwyneth's beauty offering on Goop to know how holistic her approach to skincare and self-care is and to what extent she favours brands that sell her signature no-make-up-make-up look - read: Westman Atelier, Kosas and Tower28.
While Gwyneth has never claimed to have swerved tweakments altogether - in 2021 she was a spokesperson for Xeomin in the US, an FDA-approved anti-wrinkle injection for frown lines between the eyebrows (she claimed just a small amount made her look 'less pissed off') - her smile lines, often barely concealed grey hairs and luxuriously moisturised dark spots, celebrate the signs of ageing that consumers the world over have long been encouraged to 'combat'.
In 2016 she told People Magazine, 'I feel good about [ageing], I think it's incredibly sexy,' and continued, 'I wouldn't want to erase years off my face or travel back in time.'

Sleep + Exfoliate
'I love to sleep. I love to exfoliate. And I love anything that does all the work while I'm in bed,' wrote Gwyneth on Instagram. Her go-to buy? GoopGlow Dark Spot Exfoliating Sleep Milk, £101. 'This serum targets sun damage, dark spots, pores, dullness and uneven skin tone and texture,' she said, 'it simplifies my whole routine by addressing multiple skin issues at once, and it feels so good - silky, not sticky like high-acid serums can be, with this plush, soothing texture. I smooth it on every night before bed and I wake up with baby-soft, glowy, hydrated skin.' Picture credit: Instagram @gwynethpaltrow
Get Outdoors
Again, easier to do when you live in sunny LA, but there's no denying the restorative powers of outdoor time, and time spent in nature. Pyschologists and wellbeing experts the world over regularly extol the virtues of forest bathing and walking in nature. It calms your mind and reduces stress - a key factor when it comes to skin health. 'Note to self: try to get in touch with how to feel this way every day, at least for a moment,' Gwyneth wrote underneath this picture on Instagram. Picture credit: Instagram @gwynethpaltrow
Clean Up Your Bathroom Cabinet
We're more clued up than ever when it comes to avoiding unnecessary nasties in our beauty products. We're wary of parabens, swerve comedogenic formulas - ones that clog our pores - and go low on fragrance when it comes to products that stay on our skin for hours at a time. It's an approach Gwyneth encourages too. 'I think pretty much everything in my medicine cabinet is non-toxic and clean by our standards at @goop,' she said of this picture on Instagram, 'we work hard to make and curate products that really work and are better for you.' Go Easy On Your Greys
Often pictured with silver hairs and root regrowth, Gwyneth flies the flag for low-maintenance hair colour. Yes, the beauty anxiety is real for many of us and it's no wonder. Force-fed daily ads for box-dyes that cover 99% of greys in minutes, it's no wonder the masses feel bound to do so. But Gwyneth's refreshing approach gives us license to relax, and to consciously loosen the grip that the prospect of grey hair has had on our self worth for so long. Love Your Lashes
A barely there make-up look may be her go-to, but when the red carpet calls, Gwyneth ups the ante. Seen here in full glam ahead of an Avengers Endgame premier in 2019, Gwyneth showcases a masterclass in smoky eye know-how. While it's not clear who Gwyneth's make-up artist was on this occasion, the lash power is notable. Gwyneth is rarely seen without a set of perfectly groomed lashes. Whether made darker, thicker and longer by mascara or left bare, they're unfailingly curled up, the tips always visible above her lid. Curled lashes give the illusion of lifted features. It's a trick all pros in the know are aware of and put into practice and Gwyneth clearly has the inside track. Picture credit: Instagram @gwynethpaltrow
Show Your Facial Muscles Some Love
Seen here in 2018, Gwyneth is clearly a fan of facial acupuncture. It's a practice that offers myriad benefits, but cosmetically it works to relax facial muscles and boost circulation - say hello to that glow. A good face massage can tick these boxes too. Picture credit: Instagram @gwynethpaltrow
