What’s not to love about blonde beauty Fearne Cotton? Not only is she a total Brit babe but she somehow always manages to look uber-glam despite being both a new mum (baby Rex was born earlier this year) and Radio 1 DJ supreme. What’s more, the fabulous Fearne has only just gone and launched her very own beauty collection at high-street hero Boots, so we reckon this lovely lady sure has a fair few beauty tricks up her sleeve. Read on and learn ladies, read on and learn…
Grazia Daily: Hey Fearne! So, as a new mum, you must be a total pro at getting ready in a hurry. Any top tips?
Fearne Cotton: When I’m pushed for time I just throw on some red lipstick and a pair of sunglasses- super-chic and will cover a multitude of sins!
GD: We totally feel your vibes. So what would you say are your go-to products?
FC: Well, getting up early means I often need some help in the eye area! I couldn’t live without my eye illuminator and mascara, and also love something on my lips- whether it’s a balm, stick, crayon or gloss.
GD: Well we think your eyes always look great- you have totes mastered the feline flick! Any top tips?
FC: I usually start by using a kohl pencil to draw a rough line across the top of the eye and then I go over that with a liquid eye liner. A bit of loose powder on the eye lid first helps keep it all in place for longer- take note!
GD: Ooh, thanks for that! So what’s your ultimate Christmas party look?
FC: I think Christmas is the only time of the year where you can be as OTT as you like- make like the Kardashians, I say! Eye glitter, cheek sheen, berry lips, false lashes… Why not!
GD: Sounds good to us. Who would you say is your ultimate beauty icon?
FC: My mum is definitely up there- I’ve never seen her without makeup on. Even on Christmas morning she'll come down stairs fully made up with a pink lip and lashings of mascara. I love people who keep it simple and fresh, like Jennifer Lawrence. However, at the same time, I am obsessed with the Kardashians’ beauty look too!
GD: How do you stay in shape with all the Christmas indulgences?
FC: I love yoga- I would go mad without it. I think it's more about how I feel than how I look so as long as I get my yoga in I'm all good! I really love Vinyasa yoga which is all about flow and movement. Plus there’s the odd Sunday morning run too- I do love a good run on a cold crisp morning.
GD: Any beauty resolutions for 2014?
FC: I plan to stay out of the sun- big, chic sunhats a la Joan Collins are on my Christmas list! I think when you’re in your 30s, keeping your skin out of the sun suddenly becomes very important.
GD: What would you like to get involved with beauty-wise come 2014?
FC: As I said earlier, I love experimenting with lip colours and I would really love to introduce some new berry shades to the collection next winter. Stay tuned!
