Sustainability means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. And often it can feel like doing your bit isn't enough, or that actually, it doesn't amount to much change at all. Boots is supporting everyone to be more sustainable, even if that is through smaller lifestyle changes, as they all have a notable and positive impact collectively. Boots wants to make its customers feel good about the purchases they make, and empower them to be agents of change.
Believing that we shouldn’t have to choose between looking and feeling great, and respecting the planet, Boots has developed its online Be More curated edit of over 400 products (and counting!), to enable customers to make more informed choices based on what sustainability means to them.
Each of these Be More edits focuses on a different element of sustainability, so customers can find products based upon their values. And realising that sustainability has many guises, the retailer has selected products that excel in different categories – so your purchases can Be More: plastic free; recycled; reusable; vegan or cruelty free.

So that’s the brands, but what is Boots doing?
At more than 700 stores across the UK, as part of a scheme called ‘Recycle at Boots,’ you can bring empty beauty, health and wellness products that can’t be recycled at home, and receive Boots Advantage Card points in return. As of June 2021, over 500,000 products had been recycled through the scheme. The high-street favourite is also reducing its emissions and minimising waste with 97.5% of its stores powered by renewable energy sources. It is also set to achieve 100% plastic-free packaging on online deliveries by the end of this year.
