Dior Huile Abricot Daily Nutritive Serum, £20.0010 of 10

Dior Huile Abricot Daily Nutritive Serum, £20.00

A luxury, we know, but this oil is for cuticle what a good brush is to your hair. This oil delivers smoothed-back, healthy cuticles and nourishes the nail and nail bed. We can't get enough.

If the permanent grey sky, minute-long days and freezing temperatures are anything to go by, winter is here to stay. Plus, it's the rubbish early-year kind of winter, without the festivities of Christmas or New Year to look forward to. In short, it's rubbish, you probably have a cold, it's raining constantly, oh and BLACK ICE everywhere.

While we can't offer much in the way of changing the temperature, we can make a few suggestions for beauty bits that might help ease the symptoms of the biting chill. From nourishing hand creams to super-charged scrubs, we've got a fix for all of winter's most common complaints. We also recommend developing a Game of Thrones-esque attitude to the whole thing and wearing a lot of epic furs, intricate braided ‘dos and cursing Jon Snow a lot. You know, just to spice things up a little here and there.

In addition to the aesthetic bothers of Britain’s longest season, we’d like to point you in the direction of a few handy health tips. One, zinc is better for a cold than Vitamin C. Two, your mum is right, wearing a scarf will pretty much stop you getting a sore throat. And three, you might not think you have a ‘hat face’, but it’s time to embrace the beanie, or lose your ears to frost bite. Have a click through the gallery to see our favourite buys to alleviate sore, tight skin, chapped lips and other cold-weather beauty bothers. You can thank us later.
