TheOscars 2020 saw a lot of beauty big hitters take centre stage on the red carpet: the hair, the make-up, it was all magnificent (check out all the best beauty looks of the Oscars 2020 right here).

What we hadn't bargained on, though, was a headline-grabbing manicure stealing the limelight. Cynthia Erivo knows her way around a make-up bag or two, and we're forever head over heels for her attention-grabbing eye looks, larger than life lashes, and don't even get us started on the spectrum of lip colours she's served up over the years. But on Sunday night it was her incredible nail look that well and truly stole the show.
Nail artist Gina Oh was responsible for this incredible manicure, recreating apiece of art across one hand's worth of Cynthia Erivo's nails. Look closely and you'll see a meticulously detailed depiction of Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, painted by the artist in 1889. This is quite literally a manicure masterpiece.

Cynthia Erivo was well-aware that her nails were earning the attention of each and every photographer's lens, and she quickly set about showing them off to full effect, much to the gathered crowd's delight. She even took to her Instagram stories during her prep time to document their creation, and the results are utterly mesmerising. Manicure goals and then some.

Cynthia Erivo's other hand bore the same sort of pattern, but Gina Oh stuck to more subtle iridescent shades. We love the asymmetry, and the glittering nail gems. Quite frankly, we're in awe.
