When you're heading off on holiday, it can be difficult to decide which nail varnish shade you opt for. Do you go for a neon to show off your tan? Or something neutral that will go with your outfits? Now imagine your holiday could potentially last for up to eight weeks and your manicure might be seen by millions of people. Well, that's the reality for the Love Island contestants.
If you've spotted Olivia Hawkins' nails already – you might already have major nail envy. Her bright nail art design - a twist on the classic French manicure - incorporates a rainbow of shades – each chosen to match her bikinis. Clever.
Below, Olivia's nail artist Ella Jarvis shares the exact shades used - all The Gel Bottle - and explains how you can recreate the look at your next salon appointment.
How To Recreate Olivia's Love Island Manicure
'To create this look, I applied The Gel Bottle DesignEX Pro Tips in medium almond and added two layers of the perfect nude shade, Dune,' explains nail tech Ella.
'Olivia wanted nails to match all the bikinis she had brought to the villa, so we chose five different colour combinations, one for each nail,' she continues.
'For each marbled tip, we used Daisy, and then a bright and dark version of each colour. For the blues used were Bolt and Periwinkle, the orange was Bellini and Turner’s Sunset, pinks were Miami and Marilyn, purples Violet and Madam, and the greens, Bottega and Lima.'
'Instead of applying the colours directly to the nail, I create a marble pattern on my pallet and then pick it up with a flat brush, laying it carefully in a random pattern on each nail. We went with tips, so Olivia’s nails don’t look grown out whilst she is in the villa. We finished the look off with extreme shine top coat and Peacci Cuticle Oil.'
