If we were to fill a beauty bag with cult products it would be a crime against cosmetics to leave out the club’s president and CEO, Yves Saint Laurent’s Touché Éclat. Since 1992, those golden pens have been God’s gift to hangovers by brightening eyebags and covering up a whole manner of sins. There has been one single drawback to this illuminating concealer - it’s lack of full coverage. This January, YSL Beauté has welcomed a new, upgraded edition to the family, Touché Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer, which vows to tackle this singular issue.
Imagine the same easy-to-blend pigment and weightless consistency but with the ability to hide spots and you’re on track to understanding the power of this new product. Made with Vitamin E (an antioxidant), caffeine to encourage microcirculation and soothing Moroccan Calendula extract from YSL’s Ourika Garden it promises to also even the appearance of scars and dark circles. This new forumala is built around light-generating pigments, which revels in illuminating rather than masking imperfections. Housed, in the same gilded case as the Radiance Concealer, it also has the same click pen applicator, which makes for quick on-the-go application.
‘This is the perfect high coverage concealer yet looking natural and luminous,’ says Tom Pecheaux, the global beauty director of YSL Beauté.
However, there is one drawback like the original iteration, Yves Saint Laurent hasn’t gone above and beyond with its shade diversity. There are 16 pens in the collection (ranging from a milky ‘vanilla’ to a light ‘expresso’) but only two dark tones.
The new Touché Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer costs £26 and is available exclusively from Debenhams.
