This Might Be The Best Concealer I’ve Ever Used

The click concealer pen is back, but is it better?

I can’t remember the last time I used a pen—let alone a concealer pen. But leave it to Victoria Beckham to resuscitate this forgotten format and turn it into something I’m actually excited to use. Enter the Victoria Beckham The Concealer Pen , which has completely reinvented how I think about on-the-go concealing.

For years, I’ve been loyal to the Too Faced’s Born This Way Concealer. Nothing beats its plush applicator, insane coverage, and buildable formula. It works perfectly with my powders and never lets me down. But, when I heard about VB’s new pen concealer in partnership with the A-list's favourite skincare brand Augustinus Bader, I was intrigued—especially with all the talk about the TFC8®-powered formula.

It's not the first time Victoria Beckham as collaborated with the German professor, the duo worked together on her first skincare products, a moisturiser and a serum, which quickly became cult items. However, it is the first time they've created a makeup product together.

What sets the Victoria Beckham Concealer Pen apart from other concealers is the TFC8® element. Found in all Augustinus Bader products TFC8® is essentially patented technology that combines natural amino acids, high-grade vitamins and peptides to nourish and protect the skin by supporting the skin's innate potential for renewal.

The pen is also packed with skincare heroes like Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 to reduce wrinkles, Polyglutamic Acid to boost moisture and elasticity, and Squalane for overall skin health. It even promises to improve your complexion in just four weeks. Fancy, right? But the real question is: Does it actually work?

The simple answer is yes, and it’s surprisingly impressive.

VB's Concealers against my much loved Too Faced Concealer

Using the pen is straightforward: on the first use, you need to click the button until the concealer dispenses onto the brush, which might take a lot of clicks to get it going (but keep going). For best results, you should apply it to well-moisturised skin, click as needed to release more formula. The brush applicator makes it easy to apply precisely and close to the eye, and I love that it doesn’t feel like I’m wasting product. However, I do prefer blending with a brush to disperse the product. As for the shades, DK2 and DP1 matches my skin complexion nicely.

DK2 has warmer undertones where as DK2 is a lot more neutral. I'm also someone who particularly loves a bright under eye when I'm doing a full beat, so for that type of look I'll be reaching for MD1.

Applied and set with Huda

The coverage is buildable and sits well on the skin. It blends seamlessly, and despite its skincare-packed ingredients, wearing it during the full work day I found that it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. To keep it in place, I lightly set the concealer with Huda's Easy Bake in Kunafa. Over time, I'm very curious to see how it will have noticed a improve my in my skin’s texture, especially around my eyes.

Victoria Beckham said, 'Imagine a concealer you need less the more you use it. The formula easily and quickly camouflages dark circles and spots, but the ingredient technology in The Concealer Pen is just as powerful as skin care. It acts as a super-nutrient for your skin alongside smooth, brightening coverage that’s not too oily or too drying.'

Now, the elephant in the room: the price. At £64, it’s undeniably expensive for a concealer. If you’re just looking for basic coverage, this might not be for you. But if you’re after a concealer that doubles as skincare and delivers on the promise of a more refined complexion, it’s worth the splurge.

Overall, I still love my Too Faced, but VB’s concealer has earned its place in my makeup bag—especially for days when I need something hydrating, and with long-term skin benefits.

The shades closes to my complexion DP1 and DK2 , and for brighter days I'll be reaching for MD1.
