There is a certain category of beauty products that possess a rare ability to stand the test of time, no matter the depth of the TikTok viral buys wracking up on your For You Page. Nostalgic beauty buys not only trigger happy memories, they also prove that some products can see a resurgence time after time thanks to their enduring popularly and clever make up. And one is about to make a massive comeback thanks to Nicola Peltz.

Her bold make-up moment at the Met Gala earlier this week came fully equipped with a strong, smoked out wing liner, flushed cheeks and a flawless, lit-from-within radiance. Never one to shy away from the products responsible for the look, Nicola posted a carousel of breathtaking images with a particular (and immediately recognisable) Yves Saint Laurent beauty product caught in the shot. On close inspection, we can see YSL's Touche Éclat Illuminating Pen, £29, was used by celebrity make-up artist RAOÚL to create the glowy base for Nicola's red-carpet look.

Anyone who was reaching for this creamy golden wand circa the nineties and noughties, will be very familiar with its nifty, clickable nature. But despite what you may first think, this cult classic is far from just a concealer. It went on to became synonymous with the highlighters of that generation. Its lightweight formula meant many of us could quickly brighten under eyes or fade away pesky imperfections with a few swipes of its silky brush.

As well as Nicola, along the way it's built up a loyal fan base spanning Meghan Markle and Kaia Gerber, and for good reason. The original Touche Éclat (there has been one other iteration) contains calendula extract and vitamin E to bring hydration and luminosity to the skin. The stretchable sheer to medium coverage, which arguably may not work for everyone, is key to the pen's natural-looking radiant finish which is only amplified by light-diffusing technology and the absence of any unnecessary shimmer or glitter. All we're saying is, don't be surprised if you catch sight of this golden gem on TikTok very soon.
