Cast your mind back to 2014 when Proenza Schouler dropped their utterly covetable, limited-edition collection with MAC. We went crazy for the metallic, striped pacacking and divine lipsticks, and have been keeping our beady eye on eBay for any bits that crop up ever since. Well, it turns out Proenza Schouler have been bitten by the beauty bug - they've inked a deal with L'Oreal to bring out a fragrance.
The much-lauded New York based design duo have yet to announce a name or launch date for the scent, but we're sure the packaging will be every bit as chic and edgy as their phenomenal designs. There's surely no better partner for their first foray into fragrance than L'Oreal, who produce fragrances for many high end brands like Armani and Yves Saint Laurent, and are behind the best-selling Viktor & Rolf 'Flowerbomb' fragrance - a scent that at least one woman you know undoubtedly wears.
Proenza Schouler have been hitting the headlines for other reasons in recent months - it's rumoured that Andrew Rosen, the CEO of Theory, who owns a large minority stake in the brand is looking to sell up, and that repeated talks with LVMH to acquire half the company have fallen through. They have, however, rapidly expanded outside of just ready-to-wear in recent years, with handbag and footwear offerings now part of their collection. Looks like we'll have to watch this space...
