As one of Meghan Markle’s closest friends, it was no surprise to see actress Priyanka Chopra dressing to impress at the royal wedding yesterday. But we were not only impressed with her two wedding day outfits – Vivienne Westwood and Philip Treacy for the church service, Dior for the evening reception – but also her stunningly beautiful makeup look, inspired by the royal hue, purple.
We spoke to her makeup artist Pati Dubroff to find out what goes in to creating a beauty look fit for a royal wedding...
What products and shades did you use on Priyanka for the look?
Skin prep was 111SKIN Exfolactic Cleanser and then 111SKIN Rose Gold Brightening Facial TreatmentMask.
For the eyes, the look was a soft and bright eye with a graduation of pale pink shine on the inner corner, a pop of bright pink (blush) in the centre of the lid and then plum focused at the outer corner. The products I used were Les 4 Ombres 272 Tisse Dimensions and Ombre Premiere 12 Rose Synthetique – and this was finished with one coat of Le Volume Black Mascara – all by Chanel.
On Priyanka’s lips, I used Rouge Allure Velvet 34 La Raffinee and Rouge Allure Velvet 50 la Romanesque.
How did you ensure her skin looks radiant, but shine-free for photography?
I always prep skin with 111SKIN Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask. I let it stay on ideally for at least 15 minutes to really hydrate and get skin bright. I then use a mattifying primer in the tone to avoid the need for a lot of powder.
Did Pati do her brows?
Priyanka always does her own brows. No one does them better! She likes to use a matte warm brown shadow with an angled brush.
What was your inspiration for the look and did you have a mood board?
The inspiration was "purple reign" and spring flowers in vibrant pinks and purples. I created a mood board on my Instagram.
How in advance did you get to see her outfit so you could plan around it?
I've been in touch with Priyanka about the look since I saw her at the Met Ball.
What, if anything, did you pack her off with her for makeup top-ups during the day/night?
For the day event I sent her off with a pressed powder and the two CHANEL lipsticks I used to create the look.
