Over the past year or so Sabrina Carpenter has cemented her status as a bona fide beauty icon. From her butter blonde pin-up curls to her more-is-more blush combinations, fans continue to fall head over heels for her signature looks. So, when she took to Instagram last night to share her latest beauty campaign with Prada as part of her ongoing ambassadorship, the masses were quick to hit 'like', myself included. The new launch in question? Pradascope, Prada’s latest lash lengthening mascara, which promises feathery, fluttery lashes in a matter of sweeps, all without flakes or clumps. But does it deliver? I put it to the test.

What does Pradascope Lash Extending Volume Mascara do?

At a glance:

10x buildable volume without clumps

60% increase of visible lash length

Up to 24 hours of wear

Shop: Pradascope Lash Extending Volume Mascara

After a full day (including a jaunt or two on the Northern line) there was zero sign of smudging or flaking. While it’s not water-proof (it melts away easily come cleansing time) it is long-lasting, meaning it’s a great, reliable option for every day wear.' - Rachael Martin, beauty editor.

Pros

  • Contains hyaluronic acid for longer, stonger lashes over time
  • Luxe packaging
  • Buildable

Cons

  • An investment buy

Our review:

Rachael Martin, beauty editor:

'My mascara application always begins in the same way - I wiggle the wand at the base of my lashes before gently dragging it through the lengths**.** My first impressions of the Pradascope wand? I can’t pretend I’m thrilled. I tend to make a play towards thicker, more densely bristled brushes - this wand is one-sided and errs on the stubby side. First impressions clearly aren’t everything though - there's method behind this design. Dubbed the ‘180° Lift and Grip Brush’, it comprises ‘meticulously crafted’ nylon fibre bristles that separate and stretch. This makes for precision lash separation and false-lash-levels of definition. After a bit of my usual wiggling and dragging, I’m pleasantly surprised. It does capture each lash from root to tip to deliver the fanned-out, bold finish that I like and that the campaign pictures of Sabrina Carpenter hinted at. The formula dries quickly (meaning no heavy, sticky feeling) and yet it is buildable - I can keep layering to up the volume without risking a gloopy finish. Around six coats is the sweet spot for me. I also love the fact there’s hyaluronic acid in there to make lashes look and feel fuller and healthier in the long run, too.'

Pradascope Lash Extending Volume Mascara before and after (left eye vs right eye)

'But how does it wear? A mascara that looks great on the morning commute but smudges by the lunch time Pret run? I'll pass, thank you. Thankfully, Pradascope passes the longevity test. After a full day (including a Northern line session) there was zero sign of smudging or flaking. It's not waterproof (a plus as I find most waterproof mascaras a pain to remove) it is long-lasting.'

Final verdict:

'I’m fussy where mascara is concerered - not all are made equal. But after my initial uncertainty regarding the wand I’m pleasantly surprised by this one. It’s a delight to apply, there’s no flaking, and I’m left with long, voluminous lashes. If I pay extra attention to the outer corners, I can even achieve a cat-eyed false lash finish, which is pretty impressive. While it’s an investment buy at £35 I’d reason that it does feel expensive - the black, textured tube embossed with the silver lettering is a designer accessory in itself. And if it’s good enough for Sabrina…'
