When it comes to the Golden Globes, nothing is really predictable. Except for Taylor Swift’s signature red carpet beauty look which usually features a stamped-on scarlet lip and blonde bangs grazing her brow bone. Yet this year, Swift has taken on a different look entirely – forgoing the aforementioned bangs and red lip in favour of something far less bold.
Nominated for her original song ‘Beautiful Ghosts’ from Cats, Swift – who ultimately didn’t win the award, arrived on the red carpet separately from her boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Inside, the couple cosied up next to each other sharing several sweet moments together.
Whilst she still looked beautiful, Swift’s makeup proved less is more with a soft rosy flush and glossy, neutral lip. Over in the hair department, her fringe was pinned back into a whimsical bun with stray hairs teased out to frame her face. It was totally unexpected, but we're definitely feeling this new look for Taylor and it seems the rest of Hollywood got the nude lip memo, too.
Elsewhere on the red carpet, Lucy Boynton, Tiffany Haddish, Sienna Miller, Michelle Williams and J-Lo all opted for neutral, nude lipsticks that looked perennially chic and classy.
Out with the red rules and in with the new nude...
