Last night’s Golden Globes provided a wealth of make-up inspiration, but there was one person who really stole the show and that was Margot Robbie. Dressed in a pink Chanel dress (a sartorial nod to her upcoming Barbie movie?), Margot’s pretty pink make-up complemented her look to a tee.
From her rosy pink Chanel lipstick shade to her glowing skin, Chanel make-up artist Pati Dubroff was in charge of Margot's Hollywood glam. Luckily for us, she's broken down the entire look too.
'My inspiration was Margot’s Chanel dress,' says Pati. 'I wanted her to have the feeling of having the pink tones in her dress reflecting in her look. We did something soft and diffused. It was like leaning into the pinkness of her dress but giving it a flush.'
'We focused on the flush of the cheek and the flush of the lip,' Pati continues, 'without any hard lines. The whole thing feels like a harmony in tone, while nothing is overpowering.'
Margot Robbie's Bespoke Chanel Pink Lipstick Shade
'I used two different shades for her lip,' says Pati, 'first, I applied the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in Intuitive as a base coat.'
'Then I wanted to introduce some kind of pinkness to her lips, so I used the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in Éternelle for its cool pink tone colour on top of the first layer and pressed it only in the centre of the lip.' To create a wash of colour across the cheeks, Pati used the Chanel Lip and Cheek Balm in Vital Beige. Enriched with red camellia oil, this buttery balm delivers softness and comfort on both the lips and cheeks.

"I pushed the colour into the centre of the lip, so it feels like the centre is blossoming out with the rosier tone," explained Pati. "It’s about using two shades that don’t necessarily seem to belong together to create a colour that belongs."
