New York-based DJ Mia Moretti sure has been keeping busy. With a new single out this autumn and an album on the cards, Mia has spent pretty much the whole summer jet-setting between Miami, Paris, Jamaica and Tangiers. Phew! So we are pretty impressed that in between all of this, Ms Moretti (aka: Katy Perry's BFF) has also found time to hang out in the MAC laboratories, where she has been busy curating a brand new collection of makeup.
Mia’s first, Lollapalooza-inspired makeup collection for MAC was released at the end of last month to coincide with the legendary American music festival. However, it’s the DJ’s next gig that’s got us beauty girls seriously excited- step forward South by Southwest- Mia’s new collection for MAC timed to the kickoff of Coachella next April. Way to go, Mia!

Featuring Moretti’s first original range of lipsticks, blushers and accessories (the initial collection was based on existing MAC products), the new range will be inspired by Mia’s whimsical style. She told WWD, “I’ve been working on the line. I go up to the laboratory and I’m working on the colors, everything from the packaging to the names.” She also hinted that the new collection would be totally different from her Lollaplaooza line: “It’s a different take. Still the same principle — fresh, easy and fun. Fashion and style should be easy and not too forced.”
