We managed to catch up with the gorgeous Gucci last night in between her hectic Thanksgiving schedule to talk about her winter beauty regime and her top tips for your most gorgeous winter season ever! Take it from us- this lovely lady sure knows a thing or two about looking good, and although it goes without saying that make-up is her passion, Gucci once famously stated that her beauty regime was more about the skincare- the base for a winning make-up look! Ready for a gleaming, glowing complexion a la Westman? We are! Read on for Gucci’s golden rules…

Grazia Daily: Hey Gucci! So tell us, what are your favourite winter skincare products?

Gucci Westman: I like to alternate between products because if you always use the same products over and over again your skin doesn’t react as well. In winter, I use a daily exfoliator- right now I am really enjoying a lactic acid scrub and then I use Crème de la Mer The Regenerating Serum, £230 which is so moisturising. I also love Dr. Hauschka’s Rose Day Cream, £28 and Tata Harper’s Rejuvenating Serum, £120.

GD: Sounds good to us. And are there any masks you use when you’re looking to treat your skin?

GW: I always use Dr. Hauschka’s Moisturizing Mask, £38. When I’m travelling, I like to pack the Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Intensive Revitalizing Masks, £58- they’re so easy to pack in your hand luggage and feel so hydrating when you put them on. It’s such a nice way to treat yourself a long flight!

GD: And in terms of ingredients, is there anything we should be looking out for in our skincare?

GW: Well, I love products that have Vitamins C and E. I also look for rose oil and coconut which are really natural and amazing for the skin.

GD: Sounds great! What’s your favourite way to brighten a dull, winter complexion?

GW: A glowing complexion will always start with great skin, so start by exfoliating with a gentle exfoliator and then hydrate skin with moisturizer and/or a serum. Because you don’t want your face makeup to look too cakey, I like using a BB Cream, like Revlon’s Photoready BB Cream, £9.99, and you can mix that with the new Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator, £11.99 for a bit more illumination. You can also add Skinlights to the top of cheekbones, bridge of nose and on your cupids bow for a really radiant yet subtle glow.

GD: We can’t wait to try that! So what would you say is your favourite winter beauty look?

GW: I really like the looks I did for Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde in my Revlon Evening Opulence campaign for AW13. Women sometimes feel as though they can’t wear a strong eye and lip together, but that isn’t true. I love a statement eye with a beautiful red or burgundy lip. I’m really into deep purples and emerald greens for eyes, and fuchsias, plums and deep reds for lips. You should keep cheek colour minimal for this but definitely add some illuminator for getting that winter glow.

GD: Lastly, any top tips for dry lips?** Essential for mistletoe action, we say.**

GW: Of course! I like to put a bit of By Terry’s Baume de Rose, £35 on a hot towel and really get it to penetrate while rubbing over lips. I follow that by using a moisturizing balm, like the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter Balms from my Evening Opulence AW13 collection – I do this two-three times a week. It really makes a difference!
