We've always loved the leggy, funny and totally gorgeous being that is Louise Roe. We've gone gaga over her hair (seriously, how does it get so shiny?) and admired her chic ensembles for many a moon, so we jumped at the chance to find out just how Louise gets ready. To celebrate the launch of her book, 'Front Roe: How To Be The Leading Lady In Your Own Life' (£16.99, Running Press, available now) Louise shared with us the products that make the cut into her makeup bag. There's some cult classics in there (hello, Caudalie Beauty Elixir) as well as a few beauties that are going to straight to the top of our wishlist. See what Louise had to say below...
"I'm obsessed with Kate Somerville products (ed note. US only) at the moment, I live near their spa in LA and their facials are the best! When I'm tired and I get dark circles, I use the Contouring Eye Serum in the morning and the Age Arrest Eye Cream at night. I've used Lancome's Hydra Zen Beauty Balm (£30.00) for years - it's a very thin base that makes my skin look dewy, but without heavy foundation. Caudalie Beauty Elixir [{href='http://uk.spacenk.com/beauty-elixir/MUK200005089.html' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer'}) is a spritz that is so refreshing. I discovered it during Fashion Week when I saw all the models using it backstage. It really wakes you up, and gives your skin a drink. My mascara tip is to use Maybelline Lash Sensantion Mascara (£7.99) on the bottom lashes, so it doesn't run.
I'm quite picky about my lip gloss as I like it to look natural and also not be sticky! So when I find one I love, I stay loyal. Mary Kay Lip Glosses (from £9.00) is great, just a hint of pink. Now that spring is coming, I'm moving into soft pinks and blushes on my nails. They look good worn with light blue denim, whites and creams. Essie's Eternal Optimist (£7.99) is my favorite new colour, I've got it on my hands and feet right now. Plus, I always have my style guide, Front Roe with me. I carry it everywhere with me as I'm doing lots of interviews about it right now, and I'm excited to show friends - it's hot off the press! It is certainly a lifetime ambition fulfilled to have written a book. It's full of practical tips and instagram photos from my blog. The cover, funnily enough, ended up being a real Instagram shot."
