We were positively blown away by Kate Moss's return to Cannes for the first time in 15 years as she took to the premiere of Loving in an archival gown from American label, Halston.
Yet half-sister Lottie, undoubtedly stole the Moss moment as she made her major red carpet debut memorable, also in the bold red hue.
The 19-year-old donned a backless Dior number finished with Chopard diamonds and a low, slicked back chignon.
We were left utterly green-eyed by Lottie's look so decided to speak to the man behind it, Dior National Make-up Artist Jamie Coombes. Here he explains how we can take a little inspo from the model of the moment...
What comes first the dress or the makeup?
It all begins with the dress! Then the hair stylist, manicurist and I design her hair and make-up look around it. Lottie has such a naturally beautiful face and great skin.
With the low back of the dress, her hair was gently pulled off her face in a modern, loose chignon and I made her eyes the focal point to her make-up to create a sultry red carpet look.
Her skin looks flawless, how can we recreate the look- do you have any great tricks or techniques to get a flawless finish?
I primed Lottie’s complexion with Hydralife Pro Youth Sorbet Essence and gently pressed it into the skin with my fingertips. This was followed with Dreamskin to brighten and smooth her complexion.
Next, I applied Diorskin Star Foundation in 010 to the centre panel of the face and over the cheeks taking it up to the under eye area. I blended it out with a fluid foundation brush and then gently pressed it into the skin with a light touch of the fingers. I then applied Star Concealer in 002 around the upper and lower eye area with an eyeshadow brush.
For a touch of radiance, I added Skinflash Radiance Pen 002 to the top of the cheek bones and cupids bow and patted in with the ring finger. I also swept Diorblush in Miss Pink in 829 across the apples of the cheeks and into the contour line.
Finally, I finished with the new [Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder](http://Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder) by lightly rolling the powder brush over her T-zone.
What music were you listening to while getting Lottie ready?
There was no music, just the usual buzzy atmosphere of the guests, and the hair and make-up teams in and out of the suite. There were of course some giggles though which created a more relaxed atmosphere even when final preparations were being made!
Talk us through the steps of her smokey eye:
For Lottie’s smouldering eyes, I used 5 Couleurs in Cuir Cannage and Diorshow Mono Cosmopolite. First, I applied Diorshow Cosmopolite to the inner eyelid and lower lash line.
Secondly, I applied the iridescent medium brown shade from the 5 Couleurs Cuir Cannage palette to the outer eyelid and lower lash corner.
Next, I applied the dark chocolate shade to the outer corner of the socket and blended over the edge of the eye socket, out towards the temple.
I then followed it along the corner of the lower lash line and added a larger concentration of eye shadow into the outer corner of the socket to intensify the look. I then further defined the eyes by adding Diorshow Pro Liner in Pro Black along the water and lash line.
For her lashes I began with Diorshow Lash Maximizer 3D to the upper lashes, then followed with Diorshow Blackout Mascara, wiping the mascara wand before applying to the lower lashes for a full, but natural effect.
Blonde brows are notoriously hard to colour match, do you have any good tips?
Lottie’s brows were defined and shaped with the Dior Backstage Pro All-in-brow 3D palette, and applied with an angled brush and then combed through with a brow brush to create the required depth of colour.
Using a brow palette like this is great, as with the shade range you are able to build up the colour to the required intensity, and brush through with the applicator for the most natural effect.
What did you give Lottie for her handbag for touch-ups?
Her lips were primed with Dior Backstage Lip Maximizer which I gently patted over with my ring finger to stimulate the plumping action before blotting. I then applied Rouge Dior Swan over Lottie’s lips with a finishing touch of Lip Maximizer to the centre of the lips to create the illusion of more volume.
I gave her a [Dior Addict Lip Maximizer](http://Dior Addict Lip Maximizer) and [Nude Air Compact](http://Nude Air Compact) in 010 to take in the car with her for a quick touch up on her way to the red carpet!
So it's official- we can now look like Lottie. Well, kind of.
