Daunted by metallic make-up? Don't be. There's a shade, size and shape to suit every eye. 'Start with dainty eyeliners and work your way up to bold, statement shapes like this feline eyeshadow,' says Scintu. 'Just keep the rest of your face low-key and let you eyes do the talking.'

Softly Sculpted

Looking for a natural, foolproof way to cover and contour? Double up on your concealer. ‘Use a lighter shade to disguise blemishes, redness or dark circles,’ says Scintu, ‘and reserve a second, slightly deeper shade to sculpt under your cheekbones for subtle, natural definition.’ Shiseido’s Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer, £35, gives a second-skin finish that stays put.
