Gucci Westman’s Guide To The Sun-Kissed Make-Up Look

The Look

A beachy glow and sun-kissed complexion never goes out of style. For Gucci Westman, the look holds a timeless appeal. ‘It’s warm and luminous, natural and effortless, and is great for faking a sun-kissed glow without having to bake in the sun.’

The Steps

1. Bronzer: ‘I start things off with bronzer. Dusting it horizontally over the areas of your face where the sun would naturally hit keeps the look at its most natural. You’re creating more of an overall enhancement of skin tone rather than using it as a blusher or to contour. Sweep your bronzer over cheeks, temples and forehead in a horizontal motion. Sweep it over your eyelids and along your lower lash line, too.’

2. Foundation: ‘Skin feels and looks most authentically bronzed when foundation is kept to a minimum, so don’t go for a full coverage base. Instead, spot check with your foundation after applying your bronzer.

I concentrate on areas of redness and any blemishes with Westman Atelier’s Vital Skin Foundation Stick, £62, and a small foundation brush.’

3. Highlighter: ‘For beachy radiance, apply a bronze shade of highlighter (my favourite is Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlight Peau de Soleil, £69) along cheekbones and across your eyelids.’

4. Blush: ‘Adding a touch of rosiness keeps the look authentic, and the skin healthy- looking and bright. I layer Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlight Peau de Rose, £69, over cheekbones.’

'Pair with a soft lip in a dusty rose shade that shows up just enough to enhance your natural lip colour. For eyes, I’d stick with lids kissed in Westman Atelier Super Loaded Highlighter Peau de Soleil, £69, for day and then at night sweep on a coat of mascara for extra definition.’ A rosy lipstick like Sisley Le Phyto Rouge Lipstick in Rose Paris, £38, is the perfect accompaniment too.
