The 2020 Grammy Awards saw A-lister after A-lister flaunt one very particular lip look. Here's the lowdown...

The red carpet at the Grammy Awards 2020 served up some serious lip inspo, which - news flash - had nothing to do with the red or pink variety. Instead, the A-list took inspiration from fashion's favourite throwback era with some 90s style, glam-gloss. And lots of it.

Back then gloss and liner options were relatively few and far between. Most stuck to the classicMAC Lip Liner in Spice, £15, (yes it's STILL available in case you were wondering! It's an oldie but a goodie), and threw a good sticky clear gloss over the top. We're talking the likes of The Body Shop, Maybelline, Lancome (remember Juicy Tubes?) and Collection 2000 that were keeping our gloss supplies topped up. So who were the beauty trend-setters flashing this nostalgia-laden lip look at the cameras on the evening? Lizzo and Ariana Grande were amongst the most notable, while Chrissy Teigen dipped her toe in with a paler shade of liner. Dua Lipa used less gloss than most and Demi Lovato kept things subtle.
