A cult favourite with Instagram influencers and beauty editors alike, US brand Glossier is finally bringing its millennial-baiting line of effortless skincare and make-up to the UK, with products like the dreamy Haloscope highlighting stick, lightweight Perfecting Skin Tint and do-everything Balm Dotcom available to British shoppers from 9th October 2017.

A New York based start-up, Glossier launched a small edit of skincare products back in 2014 as an extension of Emily Weiss’ insider-favourite beauty website Into The Gloss and has become a millennial pink-hued fixture on our Instagram feeds ever since.

Describing itself as 'a brand inspired by real life,' Glossier's mantra is that beauty should be 'fun, easy, imperfect, and personal’ – an ethos that we can certainly get on board with. Known for its digital nous, the brand has previously reached out to its army of devotees to crowdsource ideas for new products, ensuring that each and every launch has been carefully considered (and is more than deserving of prime space on your bathroom shelf or in your make-up bag).

While we eagerly await further details of Glossier's UK launch, you'll find us compiling our dream shopping lists. Here's everything you should know in the mean time: your Glossier glossary, if you'll pardon the pun.

What is Glossier?

In a nutshell, it's the beauty brand launched by fashion assistant turned entrepreneur Emily Weiss, who launched Glossier off the back of her successful beauty site Into The Gloss back in 2014. It's expanded from a small capsule collection of skincare essentials to include products like masks and serums, as well as make-up like foundation and the cult Boy Brow brow mascara.

When is the Glossier UK launch date?

Mark your calendars for 9th October, when UK fans will finally be able to order Glossier products online. That means no more begging your housemate's sister's colleague's boyfriend to bring you some Milky Jelly Cleanser back from their New York trip. Keep an eye on the brand's aesthetically pleasing Instagram feed for further updates.

Is Glossier vegan?

Glossier are well aware that the provenance of their products is pretty important for their switched-on millennial consumers, so their website includes a handy guide as to which launches are vegan.

'At Glossier, we're committed to doing right by our furry friends. That's why we 100 percent never test on animals,' the team explain. 'We do use ingredients that aren't strictly vegan, like beeswax, honey and lanolin (a natural oil from the shorn wool of sheep) in some products, but we've also got a few totally vegan options: the Soothing Face Mist, Perfecting Skin Tint and Mega Greens Galaxy Pack.'

What are the best products to buy from Glossier?

Where to begin? Before you make that first order, here are a handful of our favourites...

Milky Jelly Cleanser

A no-fuss, pH-balanced cleanser with a name that perfectly describes its consistency, this now-cult favourite started life as a thread on Weiss' Into The Gloss site, which saw users describe their dream face wash.

Balm Dotcom

The OG Glossier product, this does-it-all lip and skin salve is now available in an enticing range of flavours and colours.

Boy Brow

This Glossier bestseller will thicken sparse brows and groom unruly ones, without leaving them looking static or crunchy (a woe we've experienced with one too many traditional brow gels...)

A blendable highlighting stick available in a range of Instagram-baiting shades, with a consistency that's glossy, not over-glittery.

Moisturising Moon Mask

If you've been seeking out an overnight mask that will leave your skin looking plumper and more radiant when you wake up, this could be The One...

Priming Moisturiser

A hard-working moisturiser that doubles up as a perfect make-up canvas, too. Plus, it's also available in an extra rich formula to soothe drier complexions.
