Kim Cattrall forCharlotte Tilbury? It just makes sense. The brand announces the film and television icon as the face of their iconic Pillow Talk collection today and one look at the joyous pink and fluffy campaign video proves this is a match made in heaven.
For many Cattrall is synonymous with her Six In The City character, Samantha Jones. High-flying, intimidatingly straight talking and loyal, she was the woman all of us wanted to be or befriend. If you need proof of her popularity, consider the hype that accompanied Cattrall's brief but monumental return to the SATC sphere when she appeared in And Just Like That in 2023.
Cattrall takes to Charlotte Tilbury to launch the latest expansion of the brand's ever-popular Pillow Talk range. Pillow Talk marks Tilbury's first foray into make-up production - it started life as a lip liner she created as 'the perfect nude' - something she hadn't been able to find in all her years as a make-up artist. Big-name clients like Kate Moss started to request their own and used it to fill in the whole of their lips, so soon after a lipstick version was born, as was Tilbury's eponymous make-up brand. And the rest, they say, is history.
Considering the significance and Tilbury's emotional tie to the Pillow Talk range, she was never going to choose just anybody to front its latest campaign. Cattrall's involvement is a big, beautiful deal.
Set in both a retro prink car and sumptuous pink silk bed, the campaign sees Cattrall show off the latest Pillow Talk products in a gloriously 90s-to-00s themed setting. Speaking on the campaign, she says, 'it’s a campaign about self-discovery and celebrating what resonates for you'. Adding, 'self-knowledge and acceptance as we grow and change gives you confidence - something most of us don’t think enough about with our busy demanding lives'.
Kim's also joined by popstar Bad Gyal, model Matteo Sinet, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Jourdan Dunn, and Kate Moss. As Charlotte Tilbury says, the OG Pillow talk Lipstick was 'designed to enhance the natural hue of your lips so is unique to your skin tone', and the rest of the collection works in the same way.
What new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk products are launching?
Now, I imagine you want to know what's actually included in the new Pillow Talk product launch? Well it's a whole new sub category called the Pillow Talk Beauty Soulmates Collection. Included are four new lipstick shades – naughty talk, dream talk, kiss talk, and love talk – and two new Pillow Talk Beauty Soulmates Palettes, housing both a Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder and Pillow Talk Love Blush.
Having tried them all, I can say they really are as great as you can imagine – nude shade naughty talk is my personal favourite – and the faux gemstone packaging truly makes them standout.
