When Bobbi Brown launched her second beauty empire in 2020, Jones Road Beauty, it was met by a fleet of millennials who had long been yearning to get their hands back on the kind of products only the make-up legend herself can put her name to. She, of course, launched her eponymous beauty brand in 1991 aged just 30 years old, which went on to become a billion-dollar enterprise, before famously leaving in 2016.

During her time at the helm, Brown cooked up bestseller after bestseller, which effortlessly made their way into professional and celebrity make-up kits the world over, not to mention my own. With that legacy, now in her 60s the make-up doyen caters to the next generation of make-up wearers who likely grew up on those same bestsellers from the 90s and noughties.

At its core, Jones Road is centred around clean, simple, high-grade formulas that cater to every skin type and tone. As a distilled range that captures the essence of Brown's industry prowess, Brown likens her range to a 'Swiss Army Knife: easy, cool, multi-purpose products that could be used to nail any look, whether it be no-makeup makeup or something with more drama,' according to the brand's website.

She's not exaggerating. Her strategic and smart products include the viral Miracle Balm, which boasts a buttery formula that is well-loved for its ability quadruple up as a glow, blush, tint, or highlight, all while imparting a delicate, soft wash of colour wherever you need it most. And that's just one in a series of clever buys. Keep scrolling for our tried and tested, most-rated Jones Road Beauty buys.

For a beautifully light wash of colour look no further than the iconic miracle balm - it's brimming with skin-loving goodies such as jojoba seed oil to nourish and plump. Wear on top of foundation or on bare skin for a complexion pick-me-up.

Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'I was admittedly reluctant to try this well-loved staple from the legend that is Bobbi Brown (I know, how dare I?), but the thought of its thick, balmy, texture which is very much akin to Vaseline never appealed to my combination, textured skin. That is, until I found the right shade and application method. I've fallen for Flush; a vibrant pink which becomes more subdued (or demure) as you massage it into the skin. It helped to perk up my complexion instantly without overpowering. As for application, once you 'break the seal' as Brown instructs, I deposit some of the product on the back of my hand before warming it up and applying it with my fingertips to the high points of my face for a natural-looking, believable glow. I find a light touch makes the balm way more approachable. Thank me later.'

Pros

  • Ideal for those who want a subtle, natural glow
  • Suited to all skin types
  • Cruelty-free

Cons

  • May not be pigmented enough for some
  • Can err on the oily side

This tinted moisturiser, truly is, enough. It provides enough coverage to feel polished, it ensures enough hydration to allow to skip moisturiser (sometimes), and guarantees enough radiance to make you feel healthy. While it's not cheap, it's worth it. A little goes along way to improve skin tone and texture and make-up really does look better, while (crucially) still looking like skin.

Rachael Martin, beauty director, says: ‘If you’re after a full glam foundation then this one isn’t for you. If your MO is a subtle glow with a hint of natural coverage, however? Then there’s every chance you’ve met your new go-to. Firstly, texture. The formula feels sheer and soft on my skin. It’s creamy, but not greasy (my pet hate) and I’d liken it to a light lotion over a slippery or oily feeling serum-style tint. After applying a small amount to the back of my hand I take a densely packed stippling brush to press it into my skin. This way, there’s slightly more coverage than if I apply using my fingers, which I often do with tinted moisturisers. The finish sits somewhere between matte and luminous, and, as an oily skinned gal, this is my sweet spot. It’s comfortable, too - no tackiness. My skin feels hydrated and soothed (there's moisturising sodium hyaluronate to thank for that) while the underlying redness around my cheeks and chin is definitely less noticeable. If you’re someone who has pigmentation, dark circles or blemishes (raises hand) I would suggest teaming with a concealer for a touch more coverage. A light dusting of setting powder adds staying power, too. Trust me- it's a combination that screams ‘I've been chugging on a £8 Joe & The Juice green smoothie,’- even when that’s far from the reality.’

Pros

  • Generous sized tube
  • 16 shades
  • Suited to all skin types
  • An ideal option for those who found the foundation to heavy

Cons

  • Expensive

Years in the making, Jones Road seems to have cracked all our pet peeves with mineral sunscreens, read: a heavy finish and white cast on medium to deep skin tones. The Jones Road Everyday Sunscreen seems to correct all those wrongs with a formula that leaves skin looking so good you could forgo foundation.

Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'I tend to sit on the chemical filter side of the sunscreen debate, purely based on the fact that I favour a lightweight, undetectable SPF that leaves my skin without a trace of ashy discolouration. And, the fact that, while mineral sunscreens have their benefits (they are great for sensitive skin and the environment), I haven't found one that doesn't leave my skin feeling weighed down. That was until I tried Jones Road Everyday Sunscreen. I'm not saying it's the lightest SPF I've used, it doesn't run down my fingers like my go-to and it needs to be worked into the skin, but once you apply some minimum effort it glides over like butter leaving you glossy, never greasy, and looks (and feels) totally traceless. As for make-up? Mines sits atop like a treat, sans caking and helps to boost overall radiance, but the SPF leaves my skin so perfected I sometimes even forgo foundation. It's a win-win.'

Pros

  • Lightweight feel
  • Mineral sunscreen

Cons

  • Only five shades available

This is the brand's own iteration of a foundation. It offers light-medium, buildable coverage, and a nourishing, creamy formula that fairs well on dry skin types. It leaves your skin looking even, fresh, like your skin, just better.

Laura Capon, beauty journalist, says: 'TikTok influencer Meredith Duxbury sent Jones Road's What The Foundation on the path to viral fame after her highly criticised negative review. Bobbi Brown herself waded in and explained that it works best on normal to dry skin types and that, unlike Meredith, you only need to use the tiniest amount for the perfect no make-up, make-up look. Available in 12 shades.'

Pros

  • Great on dry skin
  • Natural, fresh, radiant finish
  • Silky, smooth finish means it sits more comfortably and less cakey than traditional foundation

Cons

  • Might be too sheer and glowy for some

This mascara works in two folds, to perfect the look of your lashes while taking care of the condition of them. It lifts, volumises and separates to lend a natural, fluttery finish, while the vitamin E (Tocopherol) encased in the formula enhances the quality of hair by improving the texture of dry lashes with a sheeny, nourished, natural look.

Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'This is hands down one of the best mascaras I've ever used. The pigment is rich and deep, the curved flexible wand hugs each and every lash for a bold look in one swipe, which can be applied with a light for a more natural look if you so please, but the best part is the fluttery finish it imparts. I am totally obsessed.'

Pros

  • Skincare ingredient enriched
  • Fluttery buildable finish
  • Curved flexible wand

Cons

  • Only one shade available
